That club life though. Orange County residents who want a little extra something something this summer might try their luck at procuring a membership to the Newport Beach Country Club, which has just unveiled its all-new, $40 million, 56,000 square foot Clubhouse.

This private, two-story structure has been designed in the Craftsman style, a signature look for Orange County.  Here, residential style meets resort sophistication in a chic gathering place made of wood and glass.

It’s safe to say that a good time will be had by all this quintessentially O.C. establishment. Existing members (and members-to-be) can host a wedding, event or one heck of a party for up to 300 guests in the 4,000-square-foot ballroom, which features lofty, 17-foot ceilings and the city’s only front-row, panoramic view of the glittering Newport Harbor and rolling fairways.

Then there’s the aptly titled Seahorse, the Club’s new 150-person restaurant that offers classic Californian cuisine prepared with fresh regionally-sourced ingredients. The Club describes its approach to curating its cuisine as “Quintessential California”—favorites and unexpected dishes are prepared with simple, high-quality ingredients…and just a touch of whimsy. There’s also an indoor and outdoor bar as well as a lounge with firepits and ocean views—best enjoyed during the sultry summertime (though really, you can enjoy this year-round thanks to the exceptional SoCal weather); the Lounge is meant to be a magnet for Club Members with contemporary tastes thanks to a menu chock-full of craft cocktails created by master mixologists.

There’s also a 2,500-square-foot fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, as well as a breakout studio with classes; a six-lane competition pool with a sundeck and cabanas and a separate kids’ pool (construction will complete on the kiddie pool this fall); a 6,600-yard, 18-hole, 71-par golf course, originally created by world-renowned designer William “Billy” Bell and has been redesigned by Ted Robinson; it has been a popular stop on the PGA Champions Tour for more than 20 years, and is the home of the Toshiba Classic every year. Wind your way among surprising water hazards (a Robinson trademark), impeccably manicured greens and mature pines lining narrow kikuyu fairways—a challenging but approachable environment for all skill levels—all while soaking in the beauty of the Pacific and Newport Bay.

Catering to elite athletes, fitness warriors and health-minded families alike, the new Newport Beach Country Club is, as the Club’s website says, “all about finding your groove.”
